Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis admits that he plans to follow Udinese's example and buy an English club.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that he plans to buy an English club when the right opportunity becomes available.

De Laurentiis has watched the owners of Serie A outfit Udinese take control at Watford and Granada, with the Pozzo family switching players freely among the three clubs.

The Italian film producer has admitted that he wants to expand and follow the Pozzo's lead, promising former Napoli coach Edy Reja a job if the venture materialises.

He told Radio Marte: "I called Reja over the last few days and told him I intend to expand my football empire.

"I want to buy three clubs, including one in England, so I asked Reja if he would be willing to be the coach and he said he's available. Obviously, if when something happens he has taken on another commitment, then I'll seek someone else.

"In my life I have always been in love with Naples and its culture. I want to bring this city around the world. Some of my friends say they've never seen the city and I wonder how that is even possible."

The 64-year-old has been busy this week at the San Paolo, installing Rafael Benitez as Napoli boss in place of outgoing coach Walter Mazzarri.
