Joey Barton has said that he bears no ill feeling towards Newcastle United supporters following his move to Queens Park Rangers.
The 29-year-old midfielder, who fell out with the board at St. James's Park after criticising their transfer policy on Twitter, could face his former employers on Monday if he is handed his debut by Neil Warnock.
"The fans were brilliant at Newcastle," Barton told Rangers' official website.
"In my last couple of seasons there, they've supported the football club through thick and thin. I'll always have a relationship with them.
"What's gone is gone. I'm never going to say a bad word about the football club or the fans. I wish them every success."
The Loftus Road side currently sit 12th in the Premier League, with three points from three games.
