Newcastle United have reportedly agreed a deal with Rafael Benitez that will see the Spaniard remain at St James' Park.
Benitez moved to the Magpies after Steve McClaren was removed from his position in the dugout, but the former Liverpool boss was unable to save the club from relegation to the Championship.
However, despite Newcastle having to spend next season at the second tier of English football, Benitez impressed during his initial two-month stint in the North-East and according to Sky Sports News, he will remain at the club on a three-year contract.
After allegedly being given full control of transfers by the Newcastle board, it is said that Benitez will be formally announced as manager later on Wednesday.
Benitez recorded 13 points from his 10 games in charge of Newcastle during the closing weeks of the season.
