Remy Cabella: 'I'm not leaving Newcastle United'

Remy Cabella says that he is not leaving Newcastle United and insists that he does not regret the move despite a goal-shy first season.

Remy Cabella has insisted that he has no regrets over joining Newcastle United despite a modest first season in England.

The Frenchman made a £12m move to St James' Park from Montpellier last summer but has failed to hit the heights expected of him, netting once in 29 Premier League games.

Cabella was signed by Alan Pardew, who quit the club in January, and the Magpies have struggled under John Carver, losing their last eight games to sit two points clear of danger.

"I made my choice, I accept it. This is my first season, even if it is difficult. I don't give up. I had a little trouble, but I'm working," Cabella told BeIn Sports.

"It has never been easy for me since I started my career. I have experienced times more complicated than this one. I have confidence in myself. I know I will soon return [to my best].

"I will be a Newcastle player next season. Anyway today I am 100% Magpie. And I'm under contract."

Cabella scored 14 times for Montpellier last season.
