Tim Krul delighted with patient victory over QPR

Newcastle United keeper Tim Krul reveals that he was delighted with the way that his side kept their patience to defeat QPR 1-0 in their Premier League clash.

Newcastle United keeper Tim Krul has admitted that he was delighted with the way that his side grinded out a 1-0 victory in their Premier League clash against Queens Park Rangers.

The Magpies secured their fifth win in a row in the top flight to continue their surge up the table, but they were forced to wait until the 77th minute to find a winner as Moussa Sissoko eventually found the net against Harry Redknapp's side.

Krul told the club's official website: "It was another great win and three really important points.

"We had to be patient. The last two times we have played QPR at home we won 1-0, so we knew it would be tight. But we dug away, kept going, were patient, and a fantastic goal from Moussa did it.

"We had chances and it's tough because everyone wants the goal to come in the first minute. But football doesn't always work like that. It doesn't really matter when it comes, as long as it does."

Alan Pardew's men are now fifth in the Premier League following the victory, having gone seven games without a win from the start of the season.
