Newcastle United, Sunderland want Slavisa Jokanovic?

Newcastle United and Sunderland are reportedly monitoring Slavisa Jokanovic's situation at Watford.

Newcastle United and Sunderland are reportedly monitoring the situation of Watford manager Slavisa Jokanovic, with a view to appointing him as their head coach.

The Serbian has not yet agreed fresh terms with the Hornets after guiding them into the Premier League as Championship runners-up earlier this month.

Jokanovic's deal runs out next month and it is thought that Watford have delayed contract talks until a list of potential transfer targets has been put together.

John Carver's hopes of landing the Newcastle job on a long-term basis have taken a hit after winning just two of his 18 games in charge, while Dick Advocaat is unsure of his Sunderland future beyond the end of the season.

According to the Daily Mail, the North-East rivals are both considering Jokanovic for their managerial roles.

Jokanovic took charge of Watford in October.
