Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew skips press conference after defeat at Southampton

Alan Pardew skips his post-match press conference after enduring a tough afternoon at St Mary's, where his Newcastle United side were beaten 4-0 by Southampton.

Under-fire Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew this evening skipped his post-match press conference after watching his side go down 4-0 at Southampton.

Pardew has overseen a poor start to the season that leaves Newcastle rock-bottom of the Premier League with two points from four games.

A recent poll showed that 85% of supporters did not want Pardew to stay on as manager and they made that clear throughout today's game at St Mary's.

Pardew refused to speak to the print media, but did tell broadcast media in his immediate post-match interview that he thought the criticism was fair.
