Newcastle United are led by lone striker Emmanuel Riviere as they travel to face Southampton in the Premier League, while the Saints hand a debut to Toby Alderweireld.

Newcastle United have decided to hand a start to Emmanuel Riviere as they travel to face Southampton in the Premier League this afternoon.

Alan Pardew has opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation, which sees Remy Cabella, Moussa Sissoko and Yoan Gouffran in advanced midfield roles, while Vurnon Anita and Jack Colback will look to hold the middle of the pitch.

The Saints will be led in attack by a strike partnership of Shane Long and Graziano Pelle, with midfield support coming from Jack Cork, Morgan Schneiderlin, Steven Davis and Dusan Tadic.

Southampton: Forster; Clyne, Fonte, Alderweireld, Bertrand, Cork, Schneiderlin, S. Davis, Tadic, Long, Pelle

Newcastle United: Krul; Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, Haidara; Colback, Anita; Cabella, Sissoko, Gouffran; Riviere
