Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has admitted that the club are still waiting for the results on the injury to Yoan Gouffran.
The January signing scored in the 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur before having to be given oxygen and taken off after a challenge with Kyle Walker.
Pardew has revealed that Gouffran has gone for a scan on his leg and the club are hoping that it is only an impact injury rather than a break.
"He's had an impact on his shin which was a nasty gash, he'd have probably come off with a gash anyway but it's whether there's any bone damage," said Pardew.
"He's gone for an X-ray and we cross our fingers that comes back okay. I haven't seen it back. I think when you see a big gash it disturbs you as a player.
"The doctor was 50-50 from his experience of looking at it."
Newcastle are now 16th in the Premier League, with 27 points from 26 games.
