Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini reportedly tells the club that he wants to leave by the end of the month.

Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini is reportedly eager to leave the club in the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old's father recently claimed that the defender was looking to return to his native Argentina with former team San Lorenzo.

The centre-back's representatives flew to Newcastle on Wednesday to tell the Magpies that he wanted to move by the end of the month, according to The Independent.

Coloccini is currently the highest-paid player at St James' Park with an annual salary of around £3m.
