FC United of Manchester boss has sights set on Football League

FC United of Manchester manager Karl Marginson believes that his side has what it takes to reach the Football League.

FC United of Manchester manager Karl Marginson has insisted that his side are capable of reaching the Football League following their promotion to the Conference North.

The North-West outfit are now just two promotions away from League Two after a 1-0 win over Stourbridge saw them crowned Evo-Stik Northern Premier champions.

"The Football League is possible. Most clubs would give anything to have the size of support we have," BBC Sport quotes Marginson as saying.

"There will be obstacles to overcome but we have proved to be capable of that over the last 10 years."

FC United was established as a protest against the Glazer family's takeover of Manchester United in 2005.

Their place in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier division will be taken by neighbours Salford City FC, who are co-owned by Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt.
