The agent of Steve McClaren has confirmed that the former England manager is in discussions with FC Twente regarding a return to the Dutch club.
The 50-year-old has been heavily linked with the Twente post, which was made vacant by the club's decision to sack Co Adriaanse yesterday.
McClaren's first spell in charge of the Reds ended in 2010, just days after he guided the team to the Dutch league title.
He has been out of work since leaving his job as manager of Nottingham Forest in October last year.
