Nice, Nantes abandoned after heavy rain

Nice's match with Nantes is abandoned after heavy rain leaves the pitch waterlogged at the Allianz Arena.

Nice's match with Nantes has been abandoned due to a rain storm, which has left the pitch at the Allianz Riviera heavily waterlogged.

OGC, who could have gone as high as second in the table with a win, had led in the first half thanks to two goals from Valere Germain.

Nantes had left the game finely poised at the interval when Adrien Thomasson's equalised for Les Canaris.

However, a torrential downpour left puddles of standing water all over the playing surface and, despite the efforts of groundstaff, the match was eventually abandoned.

Nice came into the game off the back of a 4-1 win away at Saint-Etienne last weekend.
