The non-league side are 85 places below Premier League Norwich, but put in a battling display at Carrow Road to advance to the next phase of the competition.

The underdogs began well, playing some composed football and putting their opponents under pressure with a series of corners.

Norwich slowly got into the match and started to dominate the ball without creating many clear chances.

That was until the 40th minute, when Norwich began creating a host of opportunities. The first was from a David Fox corner, when Simeon Jackson saw his header rebound off the post.

Two minutes later Lathaniel Rowe-Turner cleared the ball off the line and in the last minute of the half, Russell Martin saw his shot from inside the box go narrowly wide.

The Premier League side brought on Grant Holt at half-time and it didn't take long for their captain to get involved. Only a good save from Mark Tyler stopped Holt giving the home side the lead.

Luton got themselves back into the game midway through the half, and almost took the lead when good play between the strikers allowed Jon Shaw to run through, but his shot went just over.

Norwich brought on Andrew Surman with 20 minutes left in an effort to unlock the Luton defence, but it did not work and against all odds, it was Luton who took the lead ten minutes later.

A good counter-attack released JJ O'Donnell down the right, his cross finding fellow substitute Scott Rendell, who poked the ball past Declan Rudd.

Norwich tried to begin an onslaught on the Luton goal but it never really came, and the away side comfortably saw out the game for a historic win.
