Sam Allardyce: 'Norwich City gave us one hell of a game'

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce backs Norwich City to stay in the Premier League after watching his side beat the Canaries 2-0 at Upton Park.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has backed Norwich City to stay in the Premier League after watching his side beat the Canaries at Upton Park on Tuesday night.

The Hammers kept their fourth consecutive clean sheet and secured their third straight 2-0 win thanks to late goals from James Collins and Mohamed Diame.

After the match, a very happy Allardyce paid credit to Norwich, who forced goalkeeper Adrian into six saves during the match.

"I'm delighted, it was a hell of a game Norwich gave us tonight," Allardyce told BBC Sport. "Our goalkeeper kept us in the game and we scored late, when it is hard for anybody to come back into it.

"It's a great end to an important run of fixtures. If Norwich continue like that, they will have no problems. They were very good and gave us a good game."

Norwich are currently 16th in the Premier League table, just one point above the drop zone.
