Michael Turner, Jonas Gutierrez expected to miss Sunderland game

Michael Turner and Jonas Gutierrez are both likely to miss the match with Sunderland as they continue their respective recoveries.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has suggested that neither Michael Turner nor Jonas Gutierrez will be fit enough to play against Sunderland on Saturday.

Both players appeared in an Under-21 game against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday but the crucial meeting with the Black Cats is likely to come too soon for the duo to make their Premier League return.

"Certainly for Michael it's too soon, Jonas possibly as well, with the period of time he's been out for," Hughton told Norwich City TV.

"It's also about the amount of training they're able to do, to put somebody into contention. They're ones that we are always assessing and thinking about but the good thing is they are both back on the training pitch and no problems."

Turner has not played since New Year's Day due to a hamstring injury, while Gutierrez has been absent since the start of February with a calf problem.
