Nottingham Forest score their first home goal in 85 days but can't beat Watford at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest's first home goal in 85 days was not enough to secure all three points as they drew 1-1 with Watford this afternoon.

Gareth McCleary opened the scoring for the home side but Troy Deeney levelled before the break for the Hornets.

After a slow start to the game, Forest took a surprise lead when McCleary, playing from the left, cut inside and fired a low effort past Scott Loach from 25 yards.

The home side seemed to take confidence from the goal and grew into the game but couldn't double the lead and they were made to pay one minute before the break.

Deeney rose highest and his header looped over Lee Camp to nestle in the far corner.

Neither side could find a second goal in the second 45, with Forest looking the most likely but unable to beat Loach.

The point sees Forest climb above Doncaster to 22nd in the Championship, while Watford remain 16th.
