Shaun Derry: 'Notts County deserved win over Coventry City'

Notts County boss Shaun Derry believes that his side fully deserved their narrow victory away to Coventry City in League One.

Notts County boss Shaun Derry has insisted that the "best team won" following his side's victory away to Coventry City in League One.

The Magpies kept up their promotion push on Saturday as Garry Thompson's goal made the difference at the Ricoh Arena.

"I'm delighted with that - we changed our system after I saw Coventry play on Wednesday night and I thought we did well," Derry is quoted as saying by Eurosport.

"It was a really tight game. I said to the boys at half time that this was going to be a one-goal game and we managed to get that with a fantastic finish. Over the course of the 90 minutes, I felt the best team won."

Notts return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Accrington Stanley in an FA Cup first-round replay.
