Notts County manager Ricardo Moniz has revealed that anything other than promotion will be deemed a failure at Meadow Lane this season.
The Dutchman took over the club in April but could not prevent relegation to League Two. However, he is aiming for an immediate return to the third tier of English football.
"The relegation from League One left a big, big, scar. It was the biggest disappointment of my career," he told The Nottingham Post.
"I went home back to Holland and it felt like a death, but I want revenge for that, and the only way it can be healed is by promotion. If we don't achieve that, then we have failed."
The Magpies begin their season with a trip to Stevenage on Saturday.
