League One outfit Oldham Athletic have taken Blyth Spartans winger Jarrett Rivers on a week-long trial.
The 21-year-old impressed as the Northern Premier Division side reached the second round of the FA Cup last month.
A number of clubs have made enquiries regarding his services, but it is the Latics that have stolen a march on other potential suitors.
"It's a great opportunity for Jarrett to go down there and make an impression. He has been great for us this season and it shows how far we have come that the young lads are getting noticed. They're a good group of lads and they deserve the recognition they are getting," Blyth manager Tom Wade told the club's official website.
"There are a lot of other clubs interested in signing him and in all honesty the phone hasn't stopped ringing. We wish him all the best down there and hope it works out for him."
Rivers, who joined Blyth from Whitley Bay last summer, has scored nine goals in 29 appearances this season.
