Poland captain Jakub Blaszczykowski hits a stunning equaliser to keep his country's Euro 2012 hopes alive.

Euro 2012 co-hosts Poland produced an impressive comeback to earn a spirited draw with Russia and keep their tournament hopes alive.

Following their 1-1 draw with Greece in the Group A opener, Franciszek Smuda's men could not afford to lose to the group favourites.

Such a defeat had looked to be on the cards when Alan Dzagoev flicked home Andrey Arshavin's in-swinging free-kick on 37 minutes.

However, Poland came out firing after the break and swiftly restored parity with a thunderous left-footed shot by captain Jakub Blaszczykowski.

The hosts piled forward in the closing stages and could have sealed a famous win, but Eugen Polanski was denied by a fine save from Vyacheslav Malafeev.

Poland must now beat the Czech Republic in Wroclaw on Saturday in order to reach the quarter-finals.
