Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton will cast his eye over a number of triallists in a pre-season friendly tonight.

League One side Portsmouth will give a number of free agents the chance to impress during this evening's friendly against Aldershot.

Pompey currently have a number of financial problems, which means that the club are unable to purchase players from other clubs.

As a result, former Barnet striker Izale McLeod will lead the Pompey line against the Shots.

The likes of Liam Walker, Jon Harley, Mustapha Dumbuya and Luke Rodgers are also expected to get the chance to impress manager Michael Appleton.

However, Appleton has decided against offering contracts to triallists Lloyd Sam and David Preece following a spell with the Fratton Parked-based side.
