Paris Saint-Germain out to break Champions League record

Laurent Blanc says that Paris Saint-Germain intend to win and make history at Benfica despite having already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Laurent Blanc says that Paris Saint-Germain will do all they can to become the first French side to beat Benfica at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday.

The two teams meet in their final Group C match of the Champions League, with Benfica needing to better Olympiacos's result against Anderlecht in order to finish second behind PSG, who have already qualified as pool winners.

"We want to maintain our high standards and win," Blanc told reporters. "A French side has never won here so that gives us great motivation to do so.

"It's difficult to play without any pressure and without the need to collect points, but the players that feature will feel good for it.

"It's a fantastic stadium with great history, so it's an ideal environment for players who have yet to play in this competition to learn. There will be some future international players on show. We are here to enjoy the ride."

You can receive live coverage of Benfica vs. PSG on Sports Mole tonight from 6.45pm.
