Thiago Silva opens the scoring between Paris Saint-Germain and Sochaux.

A goal from Thiago Silva has given Paris Saint-Germain a 1-0 lead over Sochaux at half time in Ligue 1.

The hosts were utterly dominant in the first period, with chances falling to Blaise Matuidi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani before they finally took the lead.

PSG stormed ahead in the 14th minute when Silve lashed home a cross from Ibrahimovic, firing into the bottom corner from inside the six-yard box.

Further goalscoring opportunities fell to Thiago Motta, Cavani and Ibrahimovic as Laurent Blanc's side remained on top right up to the half-time whistle.
