Both sides started the game positively, as Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi twice tested PSG keeper Kevin Trapp early on, before Ibrahimovic forced a good save from Mandanda with a fierce strike from inside the penalty area.

Marseille took the lead on 30 minutes, as Abdel Barrada clipped an inviting pass into the box beyond PSG defender David Luiz, before Batshuayi slid in at the far post for a simple finish.

The hosts were awarded a penalty before half time when Mandanda brought down Ibrahimovic in the box, and the Swedish international sent the Frenchman the wrong way to equalise on 41 minutes.

PSG won another penalty just two minutes later, as Marseille defender Rolando was deemed to have handled the ball following a corner. Ibrahimovic took his second spot kick of the night, and fired past Mandanda again.

After the break Marseille won a penalty of their own, as Serge Aurier brought down Barrada in the penalty box, but the Moroccan's attempt from the spot was well saved by Trapp in the top-left corner.

Batshuayi missed two opportunities to equalise for the visitors soon after, before Di Maria fired narrowly wide from the centre of the Marseille penalty area.

PSG came close to adding a third goal, as Aurier headed just over the bar from a corner, before Javier Pastore forced a save from Mandanda.

Remy Cabella missed a great chance to snatch a point before the final whistle, as Lucas Ocampos found the on-loan winger in front of goal, but the Newcastle United man fired straight at Trapp.
