Joey Barton wants more from Adel Taarabt

QPR skipper Joey Barton wants to to see more hard work from midfielder Adel Taarabt.

QPR captain Joey Barton has hit out at teammate Adel Taarabt, claiming the midfielder doesn't try hard enough.

The Moroccan midfielder was demoted to substitute in
yesterday's 1-1 draw with Blackburn, following his exit from the stadium at half-time during their 6-0 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage a fortnight ago.

"It is not a case of anybody giving him advice, it is whether it is taken on board," he said.

"At the end of the day, this is the top level of world football and if you're not prepared to work hard you will come up massively short.

"If I was Adel and had Adel's ability, I would not want to be coming up short having not worked hard enough."

Yesterday's draw means QPR have still not won a Premier League match at Loftus Road this season in four attempts.
