Christian Benteke: 'We deserved three points against Queens Park Rangers'

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke insists that his side should have grabbed all three points following their 3-3 draw at home to Queens Park Rangers.

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has insisted that his side deserved all three points following their 3-3 draw with Queens Park Rangers.

Benteke was in inspired form as he scored a hat-trick to help rescue his side a point at home after they had twice led in the encounter at Villa Park.

"Of course we wanted more than a point," said Benteke, according to BBC Sport.

"It is always nice to get a hat-trick but it is shame we didn't get the three points. I think we deserved three points - we were better than them.

"We know it is a hard situation and that every point is crucial. We have just got to keep fighting."

Tim Sherwood's men currently hold 16th spot in the Premier League standings.
