Harry Redknapp: 'Queens Park Rangers were excellent'

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp believes that his team "did ever so well" in securing a 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Monday.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has praised his charges following their 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Monday, with two-goal striker Charlie Austin challenged to add to his tally in the coming months.

The 25-year-old striker's unanswered brace at Loftus Road gave the R's their second win of the season, while condemning their opposition to a fifth straight defeat.

Redknapp told Sky Sports News after the game: "It was an excellent performance, we did ever so well. They dominated possession in the second half but once we put an extra man into midfield we started seeing more of the ball and hit the post before scoring a second.

"We have worked very hard here at home... There's no reason why Charlie Austin can't score a lot of goals this season, I'm pleased for the lad."

QPR's victory lifts them off the bottom of the Premier League table.
