Harry Redknapp, Adel Taarabt rebuked by Queens Park Rangers chairman

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes says sorry to fans for the "embarrassment caused" by the recent row between manager Harry Redknapp and Adel Taarabt.

Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes has apologised to supporters for the "embarrassment caused" by the recent row between manager Harry Redknapp and Adel Taarabt.

Redknapp recently claimed that the midfielder was overweight and lacking in motivation before Taarabt hit back by saying that he needs more first-team action at Loftus Road.

Fernandes has now attempted to put an end to the public feud by confirming that the pair have been made aware of the club's disappointment at the situation.

"As a club, we are fully aware of stories in the press over the last few days regarding Harry Redknapp and Adel Taarabt," he said in an official statement.

"We regret these issues being played out in public and both Harry Redknapp and Adel Taarabt have been notified of our disappointment regarding their handling of the situation. I have spoken to them both personally.

"On behalf of the club, I would like to apologise to the QPR supporters for the embarrassment this has caused and confirm that the issue has been dealt with internally."

QPR are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table after taking just four points from their opening eight games of the season.
