Christopher Samba reveals that he has not been in the right shape ever since he joined Queens Park Rangers.

Queens Park Rangers defender Christopher Samba has conceded that he has not been fit enough since his January arrival from Anzhi Makhachkala.

The former Blackburn Rovers centre-back was signed by Harry Redknapp in an attempt to keep QPR in the Premier League - a fight that the club lost yesterday afternoon.

However, despite the fact that he is believed to have cost the R's £12.5m and reportedly signed a contract worth £100,000 a week, the 29-year-old has admitted that he was "not well prepared" for the relegation battle.

"From my personal point of view, I was not well prepared to come back to the Premier League - it is the hardest league. You need to be fully fit to compete and be really ready," Samba told Sky Sports News.

Recent reports have suggested that Samba may now be sold by the club to ease the financial burden of relegation.
