Harry Redknapp: Charlie Austin "not going anywhere in January"

Harry Redknapp rules out any chance of Charlie Austin leaving Queens Park Rangers during the January transfer window.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has insisted that Charlie Austin will not be sold during next month's transfer window.

The striker, who has scored 11 Premier League goals this season, has 18 months left to run on his contract at Loftus Road.

However, providing that the R's are able to retain their top-flight status this term, Redknapp is confident that the 25-year-old will commit his future to the club.

"Charlie's got 18 months left. He's not going anywhere in January. We want to keep him here long term but it's up to Charlie," he told reporters.

"Once he gets into the last year of his contract then it's a different proposition but we've all got to wait and see.

"We've got to concentrate on this season and making sure we stay in the Premier League. If we can do that then I'm sure we can secure his future at QPR."

Austin joined QPR from Burnley for a reported £4m in the summer of 2013.
