Rangers have suspended striker Francisco Sandaza following his controversial comments about why he joined the Scottish outfit.
The Spaniard is believed to have been duped by a local cab driver posing as a football agent.
The 28-year-old was recorded as saying that he was only at the Third Division outfit for financial reasons, and is willing to leave if an offer from another club comes along.
Rangers manager Ally McCoist has confirmed that the forward has been suspended on full pay until the completion of an internal investigation, which is aimed to take no longer than a week.
Sandaza is thought to have told the alleged fake agent that his £4,500 weekly wages will rise to £10,000 at the end of his four-year contract if the club return to the top flight.
