Brian McDermott desperate to add experience to squad

Reading manager Brian McDermott reveals that he will be looking to sign a couple of experienced players in the January transfer window.

Brian McDermott has claimed that it is important he adds experienced players to his Reading squad during the January transfer window.

The Royals manager believes that the mid-season window can be a difficult period but insists that he will be entering the market in an attempt to improve his side's chances of staying in the Premier League.

McDermott said: "I feel strongly we need to sign two or three players with Premier League experience, who know what it is like to play in this league.

"January is a hard window but we have been planning for some time and will make some signings."

Reading are bottom of the Premier League with only nine points from 18 games.
