How Real Madrid could line up against Bayern Munich

Ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, Sports Mole looks at how the hosts could line up at the Bernabeu.

The first Champions League finalist will be confirmed this evening when Real Madrid host Bayern Munich at the Bernabeu.

Madrid are in the driving seat going into the tie courtesy of their 2-1 away win in the first leg at the Allianz Arena last week, putting the 12-time champions on the brink of a third successive appearance in the final.

Bayern must score at least twice to stand any chance of going through, although Madrid will be wary that they were beaten 3-1 at home by Juventus in the previous round.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Zinedine Zidane's side could line up this evening.

Predicted Real Madrid XI vs. Bayern
Out: Dani Carvajal (hamstring)
Doubtful: Isco (shoulder), Nacho (fitness)

Real Madrid lost Dani Carvajal to injury in the first leg, and one of Zidane's biggest decisions will be who he picks at right-back to replace him.

Lucas Vazquez filled the role towards the end of the first leg - and arguably dealt with Franck Ribery better than Carvajal managed - so could once again be used, although Nacho has returned to training after more than a month on the sidelines and could return if he is deemed to be fit enough.

Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema were notable absentees from the starting lineup six days ago and at least one of them is likely to be amongst the subs again, but the alternative use of Vazquez - coupled with doubts over Isco's fitness due to a shoulder injury - could see Bale return to the side.

Marco Asensio proved to be the match-winner in Munich and will be hopeful that he has earned a starting role this time around, while the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane are expected to return after being rested at the weekend.
