Sami Khedira to start Champions League final?

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti hints at a starting role for Sami Khedira in Saturday's Champions League final against Atletico Madrid this weekend.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that Sami Khedira could start the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid this weekend.

The German international has only recently returned from a serious knee injury, which the midfielder picked up while on duty with his national team last November.

However, with Xabi Alonso suspended for the final, a place in central midfield has become available, with Khedira and Asier Illarramendi both in the picture.

"Khedira is fit and ready to play," Ancelotti told reporters at a press conference.

Madrid finished third in La Liga this season.
