Sergio Aguero's record vs. Real Madrid

Sports Mole looks at Sergio Aguero's record against Real Madrid ahead of Sunday's La Liga clash with Los Blancos.

Sergio Aguero will be involved in Barcelona's La Liga clash against Real Madrid on Sunday afternoon, with the Argentina international recovering from a calf problem.

The 33-year-old had to wait until October 17 to make his debut for the Catalan giants, featuring off the bench in the 3-1 victory over Valencia at Camp Nou.

Aguero then appeared as a substitute in the Champions League success over Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday night, and he will be included in the squad against Real Madrid unless there are any late fitness issues.

The South American will be hoping to end a disappointing record against Real Madrid, having struggled in his previous contests with Los Blancos during his time at Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Aguero has fared against Real Madrid in the past.

Aguero has tackled Real Madrid on 14 occasions in all competitions and is yet to record a victory over them, boasting a record of five draws and nine defeats, scoring four times and registering four assists.

The Argentine has drawn two of his previous three Champions League matches against Los Blancos, all of which came during his time at Manchester City, including a 1-0 aggregate loss to the capital giants during the semi-finals of the 2015-16 competition.

In La Liga, Aguero has a record of three draws and seven defeats against Real Madrid, finding the back of the net on three occasions, in addition to registering two assists.

The South American has lost each of his last four league appearances against Los Blancos, but he did score against the capital outfit in his final Madrid derby for Atletico Madrid during the 2010-11 campaign.

Aguero's first two league appearances against Real Madrid brought draws during the 2006-07 campaign, but he was then on the losing side on seven occasions in his next eight outings against them.

The forward also tackled Los Blancos on one occasion in the Copa del Rey during his time at Atletico, suffering a 3-1 defeat against them in the first leg of their quarter-final during the 2010-11 campaign.

A record of four goals and four assists in 14 appearances against Real Madrid is not, on the face of it, a strong return, but Atletico struggled against their capital rivals during his time at the Red and Whites.
