Gareth Bale: 'I intend to see out Real Madrid contract'

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale says that he intends to see out his new six-year deal at the Bernabeu, despite reported interest from the Premier League.

Winger Gareth Bale has said that he is solely focused on spending the next six years at Real Madrid, despite reported interest from the Premier League.

During the summer, Bale was linked with a switch to Manchester United but Real announced on Sunday that the Welshman had penned a new long-term contract with the club.

At a news conference to formally announce his commitment to the Spanish giants, Bale faced questions about his future but he has insisted that he is not contemplating a return to English football.

The 27-year-old said: "The reason why I signed for so long is because I am very happy here. I feel more comfortable every year that I am here, I'm improving my Spanish and my family is more settled.

"I fully intend to see out my contract here. I don't know when I am going to retire but I am very happy here at the moment and for the next six years, I'm not looking past that."

Bale has been with Real Madrid since September 2013 when he made a then world-record transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.
