Gareth Bale: 'I'll play in any position for Real Madrid'

Gareth Bale insists that he will play "anywhere" for Real Madrid following ahead of his potential debut against Villarreal this weekend.

Gareth Bale has insisted that he will play "anywhere" for Real Madrid after speaking to manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Welshman, who unveiled the Spanish giants' new orange third kit today, met his teammates for the first time yesterday, including former Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Reports emerged this week claiming that Bale, who plays in an attacking role, could be used as a left-back by Ancelotti when he chooses to hand the 24-year-old his debut.

"It was amazing to meet Cristiano yesterday, he's a nice guy," the Daily Mail quotes Bale as saying. "He made me feel welcome. I'm feeling good physically. I'm a little bit behind everyone else but I won't take long to catch up.

"I have spoken to the boss about how I feel and now we will wait to find out if I am picked for the game. I have spoken to the boss about where I'm best on the pitch but I will play anywhere I'm asked."

Bale, who became the most expensive player in football history when Madrid sealed his signature for a reported £85m, began his career playing in a full-back position.
