Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has stated his belief that his club currently has the "best manager in the world".

Since arriving at the Bernabeu in 2010, Jose Mourinho has guided his team to the Copa del Rey trophy and the La Liga title last season.

"Real Madrid has the best coach in the world, who has an outstanding record that is second to none," said Perez. "Mourinho has had to put up with a lot of criticism and has been unfairly and inaccurately singled out, which goes against the man's dignity.

"Jose Mourinho, I would like to express my recognition, confidence in your work and all my affection to you."

Recent speculation has claimed that Mourinho has already decided to leave his post at the end of the season.
