Zinedine Zidane casts doubt over Real Madrid future after winning title

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane casts doubt over his future at the club by refusing to confirm that he will still be in charge next season, despite winning the title.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has cast doubt over his future at the club by refusing to confirm that he will still be in charge next season.

Zidane returned for a second managerial stint with the Spanish giants in March 2019 and earlier this week steered them to a 34th La Liga title with one game of the campaign remaining.

The 48-year-old ended his first spell at the helm just days after helping them to a third successive Champions League crown and, while his current deal does not expire until 2022, the Frenchman has suggested that another unexpected exit could be in store.

"No-one knows what will happen. I have a contract, I like being here, but you never know what will happen in football," Zidane told reporters at a press conference

"It changes from one day to the next in this sport. I don't know what will happen in the future."

Zidane has now won 11 trophies during his time as Madrid boss - including two league titles and three Champions Leagues - leaving him only three behind Miguel Munoz's club record.
