Angel di Maria to make room for James Rodriguez at Real Madrid?

Real Madrid will reportedly allow Angel di Maria to leave this summer to make room for Monaco's James Rodriguez.

Real Madrid have reportedly identified Monaco's Colombian attacking midfielder James Rodriguez as a transfer target this summer.

Rodriguez, who has scored five goals in four games at the World Cup, is believed to be attracting interest from a number of clubs, but he has indicated that he would prefer a move to Spain.

According to AS, Madrid are ready to begin negotiations with Monaco by tabling an offer in the region of £40m for the 22-year-old.

However, any potential deal could depend on whether the Champions League winners can find a buyer for Angel di Maria before the start of next season.

Rodriguez signed a five-year deal with Monaco last summer.
