Schalke 04 general manager Horst Heldt has confirmed that his club want to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira this summer.
The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and he is widely expected to leave the Bernabeu due to a lack of first-team action.
"I would prefer us to conduct our business in private," Goal.com quotes Heldt as saying. "But it is true that we want Khedira for the coming season. However, we are not the only club who wants him."
Khedira has started just three league games for Madrid this season.
