Report: Alvaro Arbeloa to remain at Real Madrid

A report claims that Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa is not looking to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

Alvaro Arbeloa will reportedly remain at Real Madrid this summer despite falling down the pecking order at the Bernabeu.

The 32-year-old had been widely expected to depart the Spanish giants in this transfer window following the signing of Danilo from Porto.

However, according to Marca, Los Blancos boss Rafael Benitez, who managed Arbeloa at Liverpool, sees the defender as a part of his plans due to his ability to play either right or left full-back.

As it stands, Dani Carvajal and Danilo will battle for the right-back position in Benitez's first XI this season.

Arbeloa's current deal at the Bernabeu expires next summer and he has been strongly linked with a move to a number of European clubs.
