Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard has reportedly rejected interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid to agree a deal with Southampton.
The 16-year-old is widely regarded as the best youngster in European football and has already made his senior debut for Norway.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are both said to hold a strong interest in the teenager, in addition to the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
However, according to the Daily Star, Odegaard believes that his development would be best served at Southampton due to their youth policy and the credentials of manager Ronald Koeman.
Odegaard, who has been on trial with a number of European clubs over the last few months, currently represents Stromsgodset in his native country.
