Real Sociedad and Real Betis share the spoils in their La Liga clash this afternoon.

Real Sociedad and Real Betis shared the spoils in their mid-table La Liga clash this evening, drawing 1-1.

The home side were awarded a penalty five minutes before half time, but Imanol Agirretxe's spot kick was well saved by Fabricio Agosto Ramírez to keep the sides all square going into the break.

Sociedad weren't made to wait too much longer for the opener, however, as Carlos Vela was found by Agirretxe and the Arsenal loanee made no mistake to give his side the lead.

Betis began to push for an equaliser, and finally got it 15 minutes later when Jefferson Antonio Montero played the ball to Ruben Castro who slotted his effort past Enaut Zubikarai.

Neither side could push on to find an all-important winner as they shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw.

The result means that Sociedad jump up a place to 14th on 38 points, while Betis remain 13th on 39 points.
