Giovanni Trapattoni has insisted that he does not plan to step down as the Republic of Ireland coach.
The Italian saw his side suffer a comprehensive 6-1 defeat to Germany at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin in their 2014 World Cup qualifier on Friday.
"Because I am proud of this team and the results it has achieved," he told Sky Sports News when asked why he wanted to stay on.
"It's not about money - it's about pride and being professional in my job. I was in four countries and I won in every country."
Ireland's defeat places them in third place in Group C with three points from two matches, three points behind second-placed Sweden and six behind leaders Germany.
