Report: Nicolas Burdisso to return to Boca Juniors

A report claims that Nicolas Burdisso could join Boca Juniors from Roma in the January transfer window.

Veteran defender Nicolas Burdisso could reportedly return to his former club Boca Juniors in the January transfer window.

The 32-year-old, who currently plays for Roma in Serie A, had been expected to depart Italy on a free transfer next summer.

However, according to Il Sussidiario, that move could happen sooner with the Argentine outfit preparing to activate a release clause in his contract at the start of next year.

Burdisso joined Inter Milan from Boca in 2004, before moving to Serie A rivals Roma in 2009.
