Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro: 'Neymar going nowhere'

Santos president: 'Neymar going nowhere'
Neymar will stay at Santos until at least 2014, says Santos president Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro.

Santos Laguna president Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro has said that Neymar will remain at the club until at least 2014.

The 21-year-old is perhaps South America's hottest property, and has been linked with big-money moves to Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

However, Ribeiro has stressed that the striker is going nowhere.

"I anticipate my answer to any bids that might come - the answer is no," said the 70-year-old. "Neymar will stay at Santos until 2014, and I hope that he'll continue here for even longer.

"I have a very clear base to why Neymar stayed here, resisting offers from the Spanish clubs (Barcelona and Real Madrid, in 2011), for one basic reason - he's happy.

"He costs us a relatively modest amount of money, given his talent. His presence translates into intangible gains, like our fan base growing 20% in the last two years."

Neymar started for Brazil against England on Wednesday.
