Shrewsbury Town complete John Marsden move

Shrewsbury Town sign striker John Marsden after he completed a successful trial period with the club.

Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner believes that striker John Marsden can fulfil his potential at the League One club.

Marsden has signed a contract at the New Meadow after he impressed in three of the club's pre-season friendlies, and Turner has revealed that he is expecting goals from the 19-year-old.

The former Hereford boss told the club's official website: "He's a young player with a lot of potential and he's done well in training during his time with us.

"We have seen his touch and goalscoring potential in training and his appreciation of where the goal is.

"It's great to have him on board and we hope that John can fulfil that potential he has."

Marsden enjoyed spells with Liverpool, Wigan Athletic and Celtic during his youth career.
