Southampton manager Mark Hughes says that forward Danny Ings is a doubt for Saturday's fixture with Crystal Palace due to a foot problem.

Southampton manager Mark Hughes has revealed that Danny Ings has spent much of the week on the sidelines due to a foot injury.

Ings has featured for 193 minutes during Southampton's opening three games of the campaign, scored one goal in the match at Everton.

However, the summer signing may not be risked in Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace having sustained a foot problem.

At a press conference, Hughes told reporters: "We've got a slight concern with Danny, he's got a sore foot. We're going to have to settle that down, he hasn't been on his feet too much this week.

"We felt that was the best thing, to take the pressure off the area. Hopefully that'll allow him to get him be in a better place in terms of the injury."

Southampton have registered just one point from games against Burnley, Everton and Leicester City.
